Patrick Wethington Announces the Founding and Incorporation of Andarta Medical out of University of Minnesota Office of Technology Commercialization

Patrick Wethington, an experienced medical device entrepreneur, announced today the founding and incorporation of Andarta Medical. Andarata Medical will focus on the development of medical technologies which facilitate ventilator weaning, based on initial intellectual property licensed from the University of Minnesota. Mr. Wethington will become the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
“I am excited by the opportunity to lead this new endeavor which is intended to help identify newer solutions for reducing ventilator time for patients who are at risk of having difficulty in weaning,” stated Mr. Wethington. “The identification of the University of Minnesota’s foundation intellectual property for Andarta Medical was a result of my comprehensive assessment and analysis of available potential innovative approaches and technologies which are intended to treat areas of significant medical need.”
Prior to his current role with Andarta Medical, Mr. Wethington was Chief Executive Officer and President of CardioInsight Technologies Inc. and led the company’s acquisition by Medtronic in 2015. Mr. Wethington has more than 20 years of cross functional medical device experience in the cardiovascular industry, including sales and marketing leadership roles at Guidant, Endocardial Solutions (acquired by St. Jude Medical),
